Dr. Viglianti's research focuses on understanding the drivers of prolonged intensive care unit stays. She is not only evaluating patient factors but also hospital and organizational factors which may contribute to the development of prolonged intensive care unit hospitalizations. Her ultimate goal is to identify areas that can be intervened upon to change the patient's overall trajectory.
