Dr. McCabe focuses on the use and misuse of controlled medications and other substances among adolescents and young adults and implications for health policy. Dr. McCabe has led eleven NIH-funded studies and provided expert guidance regarding best practices for prescribing controlled medications and preventing substance misuse among youth. Dr. McCabe is the Co-Director of the Center for the Study of Drugs, Alcohol, Smoking and Health (DASH) within the Department of Health Behavior and Biological Sciences in the School of Nursing.
