Dr. McCabe focuses on the use and misuse of controlled medications and other substances among adolescents, young adults, adults, and implications for health policy. He has led 15 FDA- and NIH-funded projects and provided expert guidance regarding best practices for prescribing controlled medications and preventing substance misuse among youth. Dr. McCabe is the Director of the Center for the Study of Drugs, Alcohol, Smoking and Health (DASH Center) within the Department of Health Behavior and Biological Sciences in the School of Nursing.
