As a surgeon-scholar-educator, Dr. Ahn's health services research focuses on geriatric fracture care (e.g. perioperative and end-of-life care), surgical decision-making, practice guideline development, and the use of clinical trial data to inform care delivery and decision-making. Dr. Ahn has also been active in surgical education research at the international level, the development of a national trauma fracture registry, and efforts toward increasing awareness surrounding fracture care in marginalized populations (e.g. those with disabilities, trans-gender individuals).
