The Program for Mental Health Innovation, Services and Outcomes (MHISO) at the University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry is composed of a collaborative team of faculty members conducting high-impact health services research. MHISO’s mission is to optimize the care and outcomes of individuals with mental health and substance use conditions by identifying and promoting successful practices within health systems, developing and testing innovative health services interventions, and informing policy relevant to implementing evidence-based practices.
The faculty of MHISO conduct research across a broad range of content areas with particular foci in substance use, depression, PTSD, geriatric mental health, integrated care, pain, employment, and suicide.MHISO operates in close partnership with the VA Center for Clinical Management Research (CCMR) in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and many MHISO faculty also have appointments with VA CCMR.
