MyVoice National Poll of Youth gives young people an easy way to share their real-time thoughts
This year, the MyVoice National Poll of Youth – a youth opinion survey led by IHPI member Tammy Chang, MD, MPH, MS—reached a remarkable milestone. Since the program’s inception in 2017, the program has collected over 760,000 text messages from young people aged 14-24, soliciting their views on a range of important policy challenges including climate change, mental health, sexual health, telemedicine, and tobacco laws.
Their efforts have become a powerful conduit for gathering insights that inform policies across the U.S. By texting surveys to young people, the MyVoice National Poll of Youth gives young people an easy way to share their real-time thoughts and opinions on the issues that matter most in their lives. These responses are rapidly analyzed and disseminate to policymakers, public agencies, and community groups looking to create youth-informed policies and programs.
