Career Development Office Hours
The IHPI Career Development Office Hour Series is designed to share career development topics with early and mid-career faculty, including research portfolio advancement, grant development, mentorship, and leadership. Each session is hosted virtually via Zoom and will accommodate up to 15 registrants.
To facilitate discussion, registration is limited to 15 participants per session.
How to Effectively Plan for Promotion and Future Career Impact: The IHPI Early Career Development Roadmap Tool

During this Career Development Office Hour, Michael Thompson, Ph.D., assistant professor of cardiac surgery, will discuss how to use the IHPI Early Career Development Roadmap tool. At the completion of the session attendees will be able to:
- Use the IHPI Early Career Roadmap Tool, to design a single slide to share with mentors and collaborators describing your intended future career impact
- Understand via the roadmap tool, the dimensions necessary to consider for successful promotion and career impact
- Seek out IHPI resources for career development, as appropriate for the path and stage of a faculty’s career progression

• Know the Do's and Don’t's for increasing the effectiveness of your biosketch
• Learn strategies for organizing the Contributions to Science section
