Dr. Lifshitz's translational research lab's focus is on intimate partner violence as a cause of traumatic brain injury, because the field and society have overlooked intimate partner violence as a cause. Their mission is to leverage evidence-based research outcomes to advocate for social services, policy change, and stricter punishment for abusers. Along the way, they redevelop and integrate prehospital and community care with health care systems to identify, manage, and provide hope for survivors of violence.
