Disseminating findings to prevent injury through innovative research and providing support for developing injury policy.
One of nine Injury Control Research Centers funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Faculty across many disciplines, with regional education and public health partners, and in close coordination with the CDC, generate and share new findings to prevent injury through innovative research, translating research into practice, and providing support for developing injury policy.
With nearly 250 members from 20+ institutions and faculty leadership from more than 14 departments at three academic institutions, the Center brings together many disciplines to focus on injury prevention. Center activities encourage interaction among many disciplines to stimulate interdisciplinary collaboration. They aim to reduce injury by:
- Publishing research findings
- Translating research into practice
- Disseminating actionable findings to community groups
- Publishing educational materials for practitioners
- Providing support for developing injury policy
