From our director
Dear Friends,
I hope this message finds you well after a long period of personal and professional adversity for many. While the pandemic forced dramatic changes to so much of daily life, IHPI’s commitment to supporting groundbreaking health services research remained constant. Amid pandemic-related challenges, we found many opportunities for innovation in how we collaborate, educate, and conduct policy-relevant, responsive research.
To that end, I am pleased to share our Fiscal Year 2022 annual report, which describes how IHPI has played an important role in keeping the University of Michigan’s health research engine powered and productive throughout the challenges of the last few years. The report showcases the recent progress we’ve made in using research evidence to advance understanding in healthy aging, health equity, telehealth, COVID-19, opioids and substance use, women’s health, and other priority areas. We also spotlight our work behind the scenes in powering data-driven research and developing future leaders and changemakers.
Please read on to learn more about the work of IHPI and what we see on the horizon. We have much work to do and major challenges ahead, but I hope you’ll share our optimism that through collaboration and innovation, we can help change healthcare for the better.
