Dr. Haymart’s primary research focus is on cancer care delivery and on improving the quality of cancer care. This includes research on cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and management, as well as cancer care decision-making, provider-patient communication, and survivorship. Much of her work has focused on thyroid cancer, a cancer that remains understudied and disproportionately affects women.
