Dr. Vercler is a craniofacial surgeon and ethicist. He is co-chief of the Clinical Ethics Service within the Center for Bioethics and Social Science in Medicine (CBSSM) and is responsible for teaching ethics and professionalism to undergraduates, medical students, residents, and faculty. He is interested in surgical ethics, surgical education, and the moral formation of surgeons, as well as surgical decision-making around elective operations in children.
