Dr. Moyer’s work focuses on maternal and child health in developing countries, as well as research training and capacity building in low-resource settings. Her research examines the social and cultural correlates of maternal and newborn outcomes, as well as their research, practice, and policy implications. This includes exploring the factors associated with health service utilization among women and their newborns in sub-Saharan Africa. She is also exploring global to local translation of innovations initially tested in Africa that may have relevance in low-resource settings in the United States.
