Miller’s research on payment variation cited in open letter to HHS

A public letter encouraging the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to expand mandatory bundled payment demonstrations cites research on payment variation around surgical episodes led by David Miller, M.D., M.P.H., associate professor of urology, as evidence for the potential savings under additional demonstrations. The letter to HHS Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell was signed by 11 major policy researchers, including Don Berwick, former CMS administrator.
