Dr. Adler is a pediatric gastroenterologist whose clinical focus is caring for children and adolescents with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. His research interest is in improving outcomes by preventing complications in children with IBD, including both disease-related and treatment-related complications, and he applies health services research methodologies and quality improvement science to address this goal. He also investigates risk communication to improve medical decision-making around the treatment of pediatric IBD. Dr. Adler is the director of the Pediatric IBD program at the University of Michigan.
