Dr. Stein is interested in the patterns of eye care and access to eye care services in the United States, outcomes of glaucoma surgery, and the quality of life of patients with ocular disorders. He also studies utilization of eye care services and outcomes of eye care in developing nations and how they compare with the U.S., and alternative health care delivery models for eye care in other countries. Dr. Stein has performed analyses on ophthalmologic topics including the epidemiology of different ocular conditions, identification of novel risk factors associated with different ocular diseases, studies assessing utilization patterns and outcomes of patients with different ocular diseases, and analyses assessing racial disparities in caring for patients with different ocular conditions.
