Dr. Thiyag has a background within biomedical engineering and OBGYN, and her research focuses on designing and clinically evaluating medical devices and simulation-based programming in low-resource settings. She primarily works in Ghana, and also has projects in Rwanda and India. Her research projects directly develop from a community-based participatory research framework where she performs needs assessments to directly translate into the health services and health policy needs of the relevant community.
