Dr. Miller studies the relation of sensorimotor development to lifespan functional mobility and health outcomes among people with neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., autism, ADHD, developmental coordination disorder). Her research is interdisciplinary, leveraging theories and methods from developmental psychology, physical therapy and rehabilitation science, kinesiology and biomechanics, and computer science. She and her team use community-engaged participatory approaches to ensure that their program of work is translational and characterized by ecological validity, feasibility, and acceptability. Her long-term goal is to improve safe, comfortable mobility and participation for people with neurodevelopmental conditions through translational research, clinical education, and policy advocacy.
