Dr. Xiang’s health services research focuses on the development, evaluation, and implementation of health interventions in alternative community-based care settings. The core of her research concerns the integration of health and social services with the goal of improving access to care and facilitating independent living of vulnerable older adults and people with disabilities. Her current research examines the potential of home care workforce for delivering mental health screening and treatment for underserved older adults. She is also evaluating the cost-effectiveness of care coordination and care transitions programs led by social workers.
