Dr. Sung’s work focuses on improving outcomes for patients with oral diseases through translational bone biology, regenerative therapies, and oral reconstruction. As a clinician-scientist, she is interested in how advances in bone regeneration can expand restorative options for patients requiring complex surgical treatment. Her work is grounded in the view that oral disease is not separate from overall health, particularly among older adults and medically complex patients. She aims to advance more effective regenerative treatments while promoting integrated, equitable models of care that bridge oral and systemic health and address barriers to access.
