Dr. Piasecki is a nurse scientist and health services researcher whose work focuses on improving the quality and delivery of care related to rapid response systems and resuscitation care within hospital settings. Her current research centers on collateral strain, which examines how the urgent mobilization of direct care teams and unit-level resources to respond to inpatient emergencies can inadvertently impact the care and safety of surrounding patients. Her work aims to identify and quantify these effects to inform more resilient and equitable models of healthcare delivery. Dr. Piasecki has an extensive background in secondary data analyses, leveraging a wide range of data sources to study population- and system-level drivers of care quality. Her broader research interests include care delivery, quality, and decision-making related to critical illness.
