Dr. Malani is the U-M Chief Health Officer and a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases. As chief health officer, Dr. Malani serves as an adviser to the President on matters of health and wellness of the university community, including disease management, public health preparedness and promotion of healthy practices and climate on all three U-M campuses. Dr. Malani’s clinical and research interests include infection control and prevention and infections in older adults. She is the director of the National Poll on Healthy Aging based at the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation and an Associate Editor of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). Dr. Malani is also a member of the IHPI Institute Leadership Team (ILT).
