Nicholas Douville, M.D., Ph.D., M.S.

Perioperative care and personalized medicine

Dr. Douville's overall research seeks to integrate data collected around the time of surgery to deliver personalized medicine. He currently works with data from both the Multi-center Perioperative Outcomes Group (MPOG) and the Michigan Genomics Initiative (MGI) to developed improved pathways of perioperative care and risk stratification. These projects have implications for both quality improvement and policy. As a practicing Transplant Anesthesiologist, Dr. Douville also works on multiple projects assessing outcomes following liver transplantation, which impact policy surrounding the equitable distribution of transplants. Dr. Douville serves on the IHPI Early Career Faculty Advisory Council.
