Dr. Darbes is a clinical health psychologist and behavioral scientist primarily specializing in HIV prevention and treatment, both domestically and internationally (Kenya and South Africa). Broadly speaking, she investigates the influence that partners and relationship dynamics may have on health behaviors and treatment, e.g., medication adherence, treatment engagement, etc. She primarily focuses on vulnerable populations,and those disproportionately by health disparities with an eye towards psychological and mental health factors. She approaches these issues using quantitative, and qualitative approaches, as well as intervention development and implementation.
