Dr. Kruger focuses her research on global health systems, particularly in the context of disasters and climate-related health emergencies. Her work aims to identify nursing's role in developing more resilient health systems in the face of increasing climate and geopolitical crises. Her research is informed by nearly 20 years of clinical experience in remote and underserved areas around the world. She is a National Clinician Scholar at IHPI and a research fellow in the University of Michigan School of Nursing. She also maintains her role as an emergency nurse practitioner and serves on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners.
