Dr. Ellis conducts family-centered research that increases understanding of factors that improve the experience of African Americans across the cancer continuum and advances racial health equity. Her research supports families affected by cancer, including support for the prevention and management of coexisting illnesses within the family system. Dr. Ellis employs a range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies in her work with families, clinicians, and community groups.
