Dr. Hallstrom's research interests in health services include joint replacement (arthroplasty) of the hip and knee, treatment of arthritis and avascular necrosis, joint implant quality registries, and medical quality improvement. He leads the Michigan Arthroplasty Registry Collaborative Quality Initiative (MARCQI), a group of orthopaedic surgeons and medical professionals dedicated to improving the quality of care for patients undergoing hip and knee replacement procedures in Michigan.
