Dr. Noppert is a social and infectious disease epidemiologist with substantive expertise in the development of biomarkers of aging, immunity, and infectious disease. Her research examines how the social environment at multiple levels, including the neighborhood environment determines who bears the burden of persistent infectious diseases, and the consequences for biological aging. She co-directs both the National Neighborhood Data Archive (NaNDA) and the Biosocial Research Collaborative, both housed at the Institute for Social Research.
