Dr. Hollenbeck’s research focuses on understanding the upstream influences and downstream consequences of variation in clinical practice. In particular, he has been interested in the role of incentives in healthcare. His longitudinal research agenda is designed to inform policies surrounding ownership, self-referral, utilization, and healthcare costs. Dr. Hollenbeck directs the Dow Division for Urologic Health Services Research within the U-M Department of Urology.
