Dr. Wong's research applies artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to solve problems in clinical practice, hospital operations, and medical education. He has developed provider-facing AI tools to guide in clinical diagnosis with sepsis, delirium, antibiotic stewardship, and more. He has long sought to find new ways to safely integrate clinical AI tools in an effective and equitable manner. He serves on the Clinical Intelligence Committee for Michigan Medicine and plays a key role in AI governance for the institution. His work has been nationally recognized and was recently cited in the White House Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights. Additionally, Dr. Wong serves on the IHPI Early Career Faculty Advisory Council.
