Dr. Amit Pai's work focuses on making medication dosing safer and more effective for patients who are often underrepresented in clinical studies, including individuals with obesity, kidney dysfunction, serious infections, cancer, critical illness, and children with complex disease. Dr. Pai’s research brings together clinical pharmacology, drug measurement, imaging-based body composition, kidney-function assessment, and computer modeling to improve how medications are selected and dosed in real-world care. He has led and collaborated on federally funded studies supported by agencies including the NIH, FDA, and AHRQ, with a strong emphasis on precision dosing, antimicrobial therapy, medication safety, and team-based translational research.
