Dr. Markovitz is a primary care doctor and health economist. Long-term, he seeks to improve population health and reduce health care disparities by testing new models of paying for health care. Dr. Markovitz uses quasi-experimental methods to understand and evaluate the impact of health care payment reform, and his research has been published in The BMJ, Annals of Internal Medicine, JAMA Internal Medicine, and Health Affairs.
