Dr. Handal's research focuses on the environmental and occupational health of agricultural workers, particularly women, pregnant workers, and their families. She uses community-based participatory research and mixed methods approaches to center workers and their communities in her work. Dr. Handal is committed to informing sustainable interventions and policy change to promote worker's rights and improve health locally and internationally.
