Distinguished University Professorships, established in 1947, recognize senior faculty with exceptional scholarly or creative achievements
Five faculty members received one of the University of Michigan’s top honors as Distinguished University Professors. Among those five are Kevin Chung, M.D., M.S., professor of surgery, and Bhramar Mukherjee, Ph.D., M.S., M.Stat., professor of public health.
The University of Michigan Board of Regents approved the appointments on July 20. They are effective Sept. 1.
Distinguished University Professorships, established in 1947, recognize senior faculty with exceptional scholarly or creative achievements, national and international reputations for academic excellence and superior records of teaching, mentoring and service.
Each professorship bears a name determined by the appointive professor in consultation with his or her dean.
