Preeti Malani, M.D., M.S.J., M.S.
Dr. Malani is an infectious disease specialist whose research interests include left ventricular assist devices (LVADs), including LVAD-associated infection and the use of mechanical support in older adults, surgical site and other device-associated infections, transplant infectious diseases and infections in older adults, and infection control and prevention in limited resource settings. She serves as the chief health officer for the University of Michigan. Malani is also a member of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America’s (SHEA) Public Policy and Government Affairs Committee, and a frequent contributor to the Health Affairs Blog.
