Dr. Lee's research focuses on the use of emerging technologies (mobile technology, data visualization, participatory game design, social media) and the creation of learning health systems (incorporating health systems design and design/ethnography) for improving outcomes in type 1 diabetes. She also conducts research about the epidemiology, health outcomes and quality of life for children with diabetes and obesity, and studies the test performance of clinical biomarkers including metabolomics for identifying children with prediabetes and diabetes.
