Dr. Lin’s research investigates the role of stroke and dementia in the disability in the elderly, the role of companion care in stroke rehabilitation outcomes among the elderly, the impact of neurologists on outcomes in epilepsy patients, and geographic variation of neurologists and neurologic care. Her research interests broadly include health services research, clinical epidemiology, workforce demand/supply, comparative treatment effectiveness studies, health outcomes research, and examining the factors associated with treatment disparities among underserved patients. She has broad knowledge across health services research, with specific emphasis on using large databases of survey research and secondary data analysis such as Medicare and Medicaid claims data, the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey, NHATS, cancer registry data, and OptumInsight data.
