On April 19, Kara Zivin, Ph.D., M.S., M.A., M.F.A., professor of psychiatry, shared her maternal mental health expertise and experience with peripartum depression during the National Governors Association's roundtable event in Detroit. The roundtable convened for New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy’s 2022-23 Chair’s Initiative on Strengthening Youth Mental Health, as well as a roundtable on maternal and infant health, a top priority of New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy. The event brought together Governors, First Spouses, private sector leaders, and policy and subject matter experts from across the nation for a conversation on the role of states in ensuring access, affordability, and quality of youth and maternal mental health care.
