On May 10, 2019, the University of Michigan and Harvard University co-hosted hundreds of researchers, public health professionals, policymakers, clinicians, community organizations, law enforcement officials and first responders for a day-long event focused on the opioid epidemic.
The first-ever Opioid Summit focused on sharing results from research and community initiatives, to inform the work of many individuals and organizations.
Now, the summit website, opioidsummit.umich.edu, has been transformed into a hub of information for further sharing. It includes:
- Videos of all the presentations and panels
- Articles summarizing key points made during each talk and panel discussion
- "Visual abstracts" that summarize each speaker's main point in graphic form
- One-on-one video interviews with speakers, giving further context and insight
For Twitter activity during and after the summit, see this IHPI Twitter Moment.
On October 10, Harvard will host a second summit, focused on stigma and access to treatment. Learn more here.
The full range of U-M opioid-related research and outreach is showcased on the Opioid Solutions website, opioids.umich.edu.
