Matthew L. Boulton, professor of Epidemiology, Global Public Health and Health Management & Policy at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, received the Association for Prevention Teaching and Research’s (APTR) Special Recognition Award at the organization’s annual meeting on April 6 in Savannah, Ga.
The award recognizes an individual or organization that has provided outstanding service to the APTR, its members and to the field of prevention and public health. Boulton’s lifetime contributions to the field and commitment as the current editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine were key factors in his selection.
“The receipt of APTR’s Special Recognition Award is a singular honor for me, especially given the many worthy colleagues in the organization who have made outstanding contributions to public health and prevention,” Boulton said.
Boulton is also Senior Associate Dean for Global Public Health and Professor of Preventive Medicine and Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School.
