Dr. Owens is a gastrointestinal pathologist who is interested in the area of diagnostic quality and efficiency in pathology. He is also the Director of the Quality and Health Improvement (DQHI) Division within the Department of Pathology, a unit with the goal to transform the experience of patients from a platform in, and using the expertise of, the diagnostic laboratories in their many forms. DQHI is focused on identifying opportunities for ways that pathology can affect the “value equation” of healthcare for patients, families, and providers.
