Jennifer Ervin, Ph.D.
Dr. Ervin's research focuses on development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies to improve outcomes of critically ill patients through communication practices that are evidence-based, efficient, equitable, and patient- and family-centered. She examines evidence uptake in the provision of mechanical ventilation for adults suffering from acute lung injury and other forms of acute respiratory failure. She also looks at leveraging the families and surrogate decision makers of critically ill adults as activated members of the care team to improve medical decision-making and patient and family outcomes. Dr. Ervin is a Training to Advance Care Through Implementation Science in Cardiac And Lung Illnesses (TACTICAL) Scholar
