This lecture will describe how video reflexive ethnography is used to uncover clinical work in context, as a core feature to the development of patient safety. This lecture will argue that since safety is achieved by those who do the work, we must identify not only the gaps in patient safety, but also those elements that constitute safe practice to better promulgate those practices that contribute to safety.
