The Impact Accelerator Award
IHPI’s Impact Accelerator (IA) enables IHPI members to have a greater impact on health policy and health care delivery through their research.
The IA provides IHPI members with tools and training to help them impact policy and systemic practice based on research.
Specifically, the IA provides workshops and training on the policymaking and communication processes; identifies and makes connections between researchers and the media and policymakers; and helps communicate research results to policymakers and the public.
IHPI also sponsors an annual Impact Accelerator Award designed to recognize and share the work of its researchers who have had significant policy impact.
The Impact Accelerator is co-led by Eve Kerr, M.D., Director of the Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Clinical Management Research, and Marianne Udow-Phillips, M.H.S.A., Director of the Center for Healthcare Research and Transformation (CHRT), and advised by a panel of faculty from the IHPI membership.
The IA’s work is largely carried out by IHPI staff who provide communication and external relations assistance to IHPI members: Government & External Relations Director, Research & Policy Media Relations Manager, Communications Manager, Events and Member Engagement Specialist, and Communications Specialist, under the direction of the Managing Director.
IHPI members may visit the Impact Accelerator resource page to learn more about how to access IA tools, training, and other information (requires Level 1 login).
